Bleh.
Today sucked. Almost everything that went wrong, well, went wrong. Missed hw, late assignments, tests, lost lunch- all that and more. And it's a Monday on top of that.
And just to top things off, our class t-shirts are PINK.
Goodbye cruel galaxy...

Step 1: Put your MP3 player on random. Step 2: Post the a random line(s) of the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly. Step 5: NO CHEATING (that goes for the guesser, too!)
( All the cool kids are doing it... )

At long last- a useful post!
A big happy birthday to you, Myra. May it be smooth sailing and clear skies. Have a good one, oh mistress of the puppy-dog face.
EDIT: You totally copied me, Jenn. Even if My post was made after yours. :p

Ow. That's all I can say.
Three hockey games today. Won the semifinals 4-3, and got the game winner shorthanded. Pretty awsome. Lost in the championships 6-4, though... Kriffing refs who aren't watching the same game.
Won High school 12-4, though. And got a hat trick. Which is seven goals on the day. w00t.

Bohemian Like You- Buffy OST |

Now THAT is one exciting start to the hockey season.
Granted, the Sharks should have played better defense. But their offense... poetry in padding. There was Cheechoo and Bell, working hard and finishing a textbook 2 on 1... Big Joe just controlling the play like he always does... Curtis Brown with a monumental effort to get the game winner in OT... Carle showing his offensive spark by pinching up... Vesa was shaky in the beginning but then settled down and reverted to his general awsome form.
And then there was Milan Michalek.
Mickey scored two great goals off the 5 on 3- one off of a rebound, and another on a ver nice deflection. He was using his speed very well. And his beautiful hands... made some INSANE moves that proves he's ready to be one of the NHL's top players. That kid is gonna make Sportscenter multiple times.
It's good to have you back hockey... I missed ya. ;)

Two days.
Two days and everything in the world will be right again. Yep, it's that time of the year... No, not homecoming. Not my birthday. Not a three day weekend (that's next week).
Hockey season.
Sharks for the cup. My boy Mickey is going to have himself a breakout season...
Oh, and I finally aced a math test. It's good to be back.

So much coding...
So, I managed to finish up my AIMbot written in Perl today. Some of the challenges involved:
1. Finding out just how the fuck you could write a bot in perl 2. Figuring out that AIM sends messages coded in HTML. 3. Using substitution to append/delete votes. 4. Learning Net::OSCAR subroutines. 5. Getting Perl to run on Windows. 6. Getting the module Net::OSCAR to work on Windows. 7. Figuring out what the Windows newline character is. 8. Writing documentation and commenting my code like a good programmer.
I also made a little web-based script for accepting online forms. Had to learn HTML and figure out just how data is sent over the internet, and also had to find a free webhosting service.
Not bad for two weeks work.

| PERL- A love hate relationship |
[13 Sep 2006|07:45pm] |
#!/usr/bin/perl
$flower{petal}=35;
while($flower{petal}>0){
if($flower{petal}%2==1){
print "I love it.\n";
}
else if($flower{petal}%2==0){
print "I love it not.\n";
}
$flower{petal}--;
}
Perl is one of the greatest programming languages ever. So much flexibility... such easy syntax... so many uses...
It also can be quite aggravating. a sinlge misplaced '$' symbol screwed up my program. Took an hour of work to find it.
At the end of the day, Perl is still kriffing awsome. Larry Wall deserves a Nobel Prize.
